Welcome to Reflecting Joy, LLC. Please read the following Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) carefully. By registering for, purchasing, or participating in any services, events, or programs—whether virtual or in-person—including but not limited to courses, classes, group coaching programs, retreats, or workshops (collectively, the “Services”) offered by Melissa Ifill and Reflecting Joy, LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), you (“you,” “participant,” or “client”) agree to be bound by the following terms.
1. Nature of Services
All Services are provided under a coaching and wellness framework. While Melissa Ifill is a licensed mental health professional, unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing, she is not providing therapy or licensed mental health care in the context of these programs. Coaching and wellness offerings are not substitutes for medical care, psychological therapy, legal advice, or financial consultation.
Participation in any program, including A.W.A.K.E.N. and other retreats or group offerings, constitutes your understanding and acceptance that these Services are designed to support personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional wellness but are not intended to diagnose or treat mental illness or crises.
---
2. Eligibility and Program Admission
Reflecting Joy programs prioritize the emotional safety and healing of Black women. Unless otherwise specified, most programs are intended exclusively for Black women and those who identify as part of the African diaspora. Reflecting Joy, LLC reserves the right to limit or deny participation in order to maintain the safety and intention of the space.
Participants are required to review and confirm they meet eligibility criteria before registration. If you register and are not eligible, your participation may be revoked without refund.
---
3. Emotional Wellness and Personal Responsibility
Our programs may evoke emotional responses. This is a natural part of the personal growth process. By enrolling, you acknowledge that:
- You may experience emotional discomfort or be triggered by discussions of trauma.
- You are solely responsible for your mental and emotional well-being during and after participation.
- You will seek additional professional support if needed.
While confidentiality is respected and upheld, facilitators may break confidentiality if required by law or if they believe there is imminent risk of harm to you or others. In such instances, reasonable efforts will be made to discuss the situation with you before any disclosures are made.
---
4. Confidentiality and Community Conduct
All participants agree to uphold the privacy and confidentiality of other group members. You agree not to disclose personal, identifiable, or sensitive information shared by others during any program or group session.
Facilitators and group members alike are expected to engage respectfully. Any behavior that is disruptive, harmful, or violates the stated intentions of the space may result in removal from the program without refund.
---
5. Copyright and Intellectual Property
All materials provided, including but not limited to written content, slides, videos, recordings, PDFs, and other intellectual property, are the exclusive property of Reflecting Joy, LLC and are protected by U.S. Copyright Law.
You may not reproduce, distribute, publish, modify, or share any materials without prior written consent. Unauthorized use is a breach of this Agreement and may result in legal action.
---
6. Fees, Payments, and Refunds
All purchases are non-refundable, including but not limited to:
- Virtual and in-person classes, workshops, retreats, coaching programs, and courses.
- Payment plans and deposits.
We understand that life circumstances can change. Transfers to future offerings may be possible only upon written request and written confirmation from Melissa Ifill, and are not guaranteed. Approved transfers are handled on a case-by-case basis and are subject to availability.
If you are enrolled in a payment plan, you are responsible for completing all scheduled payments. Failure to do so may result in suspension or termination of participation, and legal action may be pursued to recover unpaid balances.
---
7. Purchases for Retreats and In-Person Events
Due to the nature of event planning and the reservation of accommodations, facilitators, and other vendors, all event related payments are non-refundable. Transfers are considered only with advance notice and upon approval by Reflecting Joy, LLC.
You are responsible for reviewing all retreat policies, travel advisories, and expectations before registering. Reflecting Joy is not liable for any travel disruptions, illness, or personal emergencies that may affect your ability to attend.
---
8. Health and Safety
You certify that you are physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of participating in the activities involved in the Services. You are responsible for notifying Melissa Ifill or Reflecting Joy, LLC of any relevant health conditions or accessibility needs in advance.
We reserve the right to deny participation or request medical clearance if we believe your health or safety, or the well-being of others, may be compromised.
---
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reflecting Joy, LLC, its owners, facilitators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages resulting from your participation in our Services.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Reflecting Joy, LLC and its affiliates from any claims arising out of your participation, including travel-related incidents, emotional distress, or any outcomes stemming from the use of provided content.
---

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia and the United States. Any dispute arising from your use of this site or participation in our Services shall be resolved through mediation, followed by binding arbitration if necessary, in Fulton County, Georgia.
